INFO
Christopher Francis is a punk-soul crooner from Olympia, Washington. Francis has been likened to Jeff Buckley and Nick Cave and, much like the former, often covers songs performed by Nina Simone. He released a 7" single as a part of TOMLAB's legendary Alphabet Series, and was featured on David Shrigley's Worried Noodles project alongside David Byrne, Grizzly Bear, Hot Chip, Liars, and many others. He has remixed Xiu Xiu, Grizzly Bear, and Cibelle among others. Francis has self-released two EP's and is currently working on his full-length debut for early 2009.
PRESS QUOTES
"Standouts, of which there are plenty, include a loveable 'One' from Christopher Francis..." Billboard on Worried Noodles
"Christopher Francis, blond and unassuming, showcased a strong tenor, but played just three songs since it was a busy night. Shrigley's lyrics to Francis' contribution 'One' jumped in all the right poetic puddles, and Francis' deliberate, haunting melody delivered them with a Modern Lovers simplicity and wit." Tiny Mix Tapes on Worried Noodles NYC
"This is like tunng, but really upfront and in your face. Where the books are quietly standing on the edge of the dancefloor, not really wanting to be there, Son is right out in the middle dancing with himself, and everyone is thinking 'who is that maniac?' "

"As it stands, these jams are nervous, paranoid, fried into the circuits, and easy to annoy yet hard to ignore. Much as I am repulsed, I'm curious to see where this is gonna lead."
Dusted Magazine on the Tomlab 7"
"[Like Rasputin EP] create a sonic atmosphere where voice, sparse electronic sounds and acoustic guitar are the airy tension hovering above the fluid subject, like fog over a quiet lake on a cold misty morning. This is a must for fans of the 4AD label."
